Piemonte in the northern Italy is famous for the fantastic wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, the food and truffles. But there are much more to discover; spectacular views, small cities with local lifestyle, fantastic walking paths, delicious food and ice cream etc.

Cimaferle is a typical small village, without many permanent residents. But in summertime there are lots of life, particular at Sanfront, the local bar. The locals with houses in Cimaferle come here. Besides being a bar, Sanfront is also a restaurant.

In Cimaferle there is also a deli shop, where you can buy cheese, pasta and salami, both the local ‘filetto baciato’ and salami with truffle. Filetto baciato is a tasty salami. If you pass the deli, and follow the road, you come to the restaurant Il Laghetto. It is open for lunch and dinner and serve very nice pizzas.

cimaferle

Cimaferle is located on top of a small mountain approx. 700 m above sea level. There is a great view and in clear weather you can see the Alps. Cimaferle is known for many beautiful hiking trails, and trail no. 534 goes right past the ground. If you are interested in mountain biking, the area has plenty of opportunities for doing so.

Natura 2000

Close to Cimaferle is a large Natura 2000 park. This park protects chestnut trees (therefore the name ‘Villa la Castagna’) and has a variety of animal life, including eagles, owls, and wild boars.

Acqui Terme

Acqui Terme is 18 km away from Cimaferle. Acqui Terme is a larger city with supermarkets, several good restaurants, bars and small streets with shops. Acqui Terme is also known for its thermal baths.

Shopping

There are several places to visit for shopping. Serra Valle Design outlet is 1 hour drive from Cimaferle. In Milano there are many shops, try Corso Vittorio Emanuele or the square around ‘Duomo di Milano’.

It is easy to get there

If you wish to arrive by plane, there are several options. Nearest airports are Milan, Turin, Genoa and Nice. Several companies fly to Milan, where Malpensa Airport is the easiest one when heading south.
